WORDS, WAR AND MUSIC

Saturday, June 28  2014 Barbican Theatre

Multilingual performance to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, in partnership with the Barbican Theatre and Redcliffe Films With exclusive screening of the film Severn and Somme about the war poet Ivor Gurney. Multilingual poetry recital with Plymouth’s poet laureate, Michael Sullivan accompanied by German poet Marieluise Niehus alongside City Councillor Chaz Singh and young performers from the Barbican Theatre reading Indian, Spanish, French and Italian poetry in original WW1 letters and poems. This featured a musical score from Tim Sayer head of Live Music programme at Marjon University
